What is going to happen to the children is in Haiti after the media is left, and more

or less some kind of order is established?
The infants and younger children are going to be adopted. Many of them for sure. What is going to happen to the older ones and the teen agers? I mean those who will have no relatives close or distance who can take care of them. Where will they live, go to school be fed and clothed? So far, I did not even hear this problem addressed. Does any world organization have any plans? Any country willing to take them in house them, feed them supervise them and teach them so when they reach adulthood they can go home and contribute and help manage they own country.
Am I to naive to even think of such a possibility? Left on they own now many of them may became victims of rape abuse and crime. They may form bands or lured into ones. It is a frightening thought.

At some point, your child will come home from school upset, full of complaint telling you that they hate the teacher. How would you handle the situation?
Be alarmed or concerned ?
The best thing I would say is to listen calmly to the complaint without jumping to a conclusion.
The child could be upset and frustrated with a difficult test or assignment, or being embarrassed for being called down in front of the class
You have to listen very calmly, be reassuring and very patient. You have to ask the questions “what the teacher did or said to upset you?” What did the kids do, is anybody bullying you? From those answers, you may get the idea of what could have happened. If in a short time your child forgets and goes out to play that is great and you can move on, but if the child stays upset has problem going to sleep and tells you that he doesn’t want to go to school the next day then talk about it and try to solve the problem together to find a simple solution. You should also go to the next open house night and listen to the teacher expectation, talk to other parents and see if they have a similar problem or concerns. Go and pick your child up early and observe how he/she relates to other children.
If what you hear and see is in line with what you hear at home, then call the teacher and set up an appointment to share the concern with her and to try to solve the problem together.
If your child is old enough, bring him/her with you. It is important that they understand that a positive resolution with the teacher is the best solution for everybody’s concern.

My Winter Escap

After a very balm November, winter came suddenly and put us in a deep freeze.

22 years ago while still working I was visiting Arizona with an Elderhostel program I bought a small condominium in the middle of the desert literary, There was nothing around but desert, cotton fields, broccoli fields and orange grows. Cool Chrismas Gifts

When my grandchildren where small all they wanted to eat was grilled cheese sandvich. They were very meticulous of what they eat and mealtime was a struggle.

The other day somebody asked me, what I think about school uniforms.
I believe it is a good idea.
Children come to school from different financial backgrounds and that could create a social divide. Kids whose parents are not well off cannot buy expensive cloths. Those kids may feel left out less important, envious. All this feelings will influence they performance, how they feel about themselves values angry with the parents.
Uniforms would eliminate most of these things. At least in school they would look the same.
The hardest and most responsible job is to be a parent. The children are the future and a child that comes from a loving well-balanced family setting, is less likely to do drugs, engage in sexual activity, steel or lie. Parents are the models and the rock in the children is growing up stages. Money has nothing to do with it

For grandparents like me this is the time of year when I have to put on my thinking cap for organizing on a budget the gifts to my family
Not an easy task, but doable. I make a list starting with my four grandsons, they wife is where applicable and my only great granddaughter. Next my two sons and they spouses and here is when I stop.
